Moonlight...

The ancient clan of Moonlight has long been steeped in mysticism and the fringe edges of philosophy, and is sometimes referred to as a "cult" rather than a respectable clan; while the clan itself is not an antagonistic, troublesome, or definitively ill-natured one, no clan member will deny that certain odd and ritualistic rites have taken place in the icy haven known as Fuyu no Tsuki-jo (Fortress of the Winter's Moon). All sorts comprise the ranks of Moonlight, though it is fair to say that a good number of clan members are water-based demons or half-demons.

This group is an isolated one, being confined, for lack of a better word, to the northern island of the Nippon chain. The island experiences little seasonal variation from year to year, and a large portion of the land is perpetually blanketed in white. Clan Moonlight has its base near the center of the islance, in the middle of a vast, permanently frozen lake.

The vast Fuyu no Tsuki-jo was built before the lake first froze, countless years ago, by the spiritual and sometimes familial ancestors of Moonlight. Half of the palace is submerged, eternally stabilized in the icy grip of the lake. The upper section of the castle seems to be constructed of white stone and wood laquered with a cerulean glaze. The interior is decorated in a traditional style, with blue and violet being the predominant color scheme of the manor, and by extension, the entire clan. A seemingly bottomless stairwell is the fortress's centerpiece, which provides access to the deeper, remote depths of the castleand the other structures built beneath the frosted water.
